Melissa Hagans has enjoyed 18 consecutive years in study and performance of dance and cheerleading, including ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, character, and cheer dance. In competitive performance Melissa has received hundreds of trophies, medals and awards; additionally, she was awarded several student choreography recognitions during her performance history. Melissa is also proud to have been the recipient of consecutive scholarships from Dance Educators of America for week-long master classes in Las Vegas, three special “Showmanship” recognitions for her jazz interpretations, DEA Miss Teen Dance and “I Love Dance” Sweetheart. 

Melissa’s study has also included numerous regional and national workshops and dance camps, among which were Art Reach – Dance Ad Deum, Tap Dogs, Dance Educators of America and Broadway Dance Center, New York.  She was a member of three nationally recognized competitive teams and a senior company member of The Steven Boyd Dance Ensemble. Melissa has also performed in instructional videos demonstrating both jazz and lyrical techniques, combinations and full dance routines.

For the last 8 years Melissa has shared her love of dance and her knowledge of technique and performance standards with hundreds of students of varying age and ability levels. She has prepared many teams for competition with her choreography and strong technique and performance ethic and style. Melissa has also shared with her students the personal philosophy of a disciplined, dedicated dance performer.

Melissa Hagans currently serves as dance coordinator for a local company specializing in servicing day care centers and private school after school programs with dance, music and movement, and cheer instruction.  Melissa also teaches classes for American Academy of Dance and Hintze Dance Center.  She is looking forward to working with and learning with the talented dancers at Hintze’s.
